Eric Sweet has been playing and studying the trombone since 6th grade when his band director, Greg Hayes, first handed him the instrument.  Always cautious in taking the ‘next step’ he truly fell in love with the horn when he attended Interlochen Music and Arts school’s summer trombone institute in 2011.  Since then he has participated in Cleveland Trombone Seminar, Berkshire Summer Music, Blast of Brass, and the Rafael Méndez Brass Institute.  He has also had the pleasure to perform with the Dallas Winds.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Music Performance from Baylor University in 2018 and was awarded his Masters of Music Performance in 2020 from the New England Conservatory.  His primary teachers have been Steven Lange, Brent Phillips, Mark Kellogg, Larry Zalkind, and Bob Burnham.  He has participated in Master Classes with Randall Hawes, James Box, and Scott Hartman.  Additionally he has taken lessons from Toby Oft, Shachar Israel, Norman Bolter, and John Kitzman.

Eric is currently teaching private lessons in his hometown of McKinney, Texas.
